Riots and Falling Stocks and Debts

The Animal Kingdom hunts for food, not for sport, yet Humans, part of the Animal Kingdom, alleged to be the dominant animal of the Kingdom, does just that.  Worse, we also seem hell bent on self destruction.

Like what the fuck is up with the riots in England?  It was France not long ago and it makes you wonder, what is happening to our youth that makes them plan ahead, thanks to the wonder of every kid needs a blackberry or iPhone, to go out and do wanton destruction.

Let’s not forget the pinstriped suits who run our Financial Markets either. I mean come on, let’s just go borrow more cash, and everything will be fine.  Course who is gonna pay for all that borrowing? Sure as fuck isn’t going to be those pinstripe suits, or the uber rich, now is it?

I wonder, if perhaps the Media didn’t help facilitate the entire downslide of the DOW and TSX on Monday? I mean all weekend long they kept harping on how serious the downgrading of the US credit rating was, and perhaps, that got a lot of little people scared? Maybe that is why there was a huge sell off, and today, well the greedy and opportunists started buying up those lower stocks. All because people got scared, needlessly.

The issue of the debt hasn’t been solved, buy hey we got some new millionaires, some new paupers. All because the Media played it up, so they could get some added ratings. Which in turn means they can charge advertisers more. Hey, guess who is the big winner? The Elite and the Media.

Think the riots in England aren’t also fueled by the Media?

After all, who fanned the flames initially with the shooting of that man, but the media. They played right into it, bringing up issues that were buried, and rekindled old hatreds. So why shouldn’t the little punks go out on a looting spree? The media said they would, even gave them a trumped up reason, so off they went.

And where is the Government? Well, they got caught napping, because they were busy trying to figure out how to pay for more debt, created by stupid economic policies by so called experts, whose only goal was to feather their own nest.

Ever notice how all these Media & Financial Experts are wage earners too? Like uh, if they are so smart about how the markets work, how come they aren’t right up there in the Fortune 100?

Simple, they KNOW SHIT !

As for the punks, maybe it’s time to start demanding some accountability from all who have kids. Instead of blaming video games, that these parents have bought for their brats, instead of blaming tough economics, while giving their kids expensive sneakers and cell phones, we should start forcing parents, TO BE PARENTS.

Oh I can see the hail storm of outrage coming, but you know, isn’t it time we all, myself included, started taking responsibility for our actions, instead of pointing the finger of blame everywhere else?

We might be surprised at how well things might go, if we just stopped blaming everyone else, and stood up and said.  It’s My Fault.

Harper’s Throne Speech Snooze

Honestly, one could have slept through the whole thing, if it wasn’t for the protest by the page. Other than that, it was merely more lies by our Prime Minister, promising exactly what he first promised five years ago, of which he has yet to deliver.

So why is this going to be any different?

Like he wants First Nation’s chiefs and councilors to publicly release their salaries and expenses.  How come he doesn’t do that for his own cabinet?  Yet you know what is sad, that is how he plans to address the deplorable living conditions on Native Reservations?

He’s finally going to give the NRA what they wanted, in ending the Long Gun Registry, which should at least give him some good campaign funding down the road. I mean come on, he’ll do anything to make sure he has a full war chest. Even going as far as attempting to eliminate Political Parties by ending the public subsidy to all.

Some will argue that is good, but the fact is it isn’t. When you force Political Parties to rely on individual/corporate donations, you open up the door to graft, and bribery.  Don’t believe me, well hell, look at the United States and all the graft going on there. John Edwards just the most recent caught in campaign abuses, well alleged. ( gotta be politically correct, right? ).

Thing is, when business can buy itself a few Members of Parliament, why should we vote? The Oil Industry has bought Stephen Harper, along with contributions from the NRA, so tell me, do you enjoy spending $1.30 a liter for gas? Enjoy the high price of food and everything else, because the Oil Industry got itself a Prime Minister in it’s pocket?

And that was with public funding. Imagine how it is going to be when that is gone? Who will be able to stop the Corporate Greed Merchants then? 

And the real laugher, was the nonsense about making the Government more Accountable. Like does that include having Ministries comply with requests from the Freedom Of Information department? Or will he even add a staff member or two to that department, so people can actually get answers without waiting for a year?

No, this isn’t a Throne Speech of a responsible government, merely a gloried speech filled with the same lies that hoodwinked nearly 40% of Canadians.

How long will that keep on working, I wonder?

I Trust What Harper Says…

or so someone told me today.

I suppose that is what surprises me, more than the attack ads.  I mean, what is there to trust, when a man for the last five years has lied repeatidly  LIED to us.  Do people really not see the lies?

I mean okay, he says we can’t afford the Liberal Programs/Plan, and can’t even begin to consider the NDP program/plans.   Yet, can we afford his programs, his plans?

This is the man who told us in 2004, that he would give us an accountable, transparent government.   So where is his copy of the Auditor General’s report on the G8/G20 conference?   Hasn’t been released now, has it?

What about the deal to buy all those F-35 Fighter Jets.  He says it will be $75 Million a pop, yet won’t release the letter of intent.  Even the US Congress is investigating the cost of these jets, reviewing their own purchase agreement, based on how much EXTRA they are going to cost.  The Only One who isn’t reviewing the purchase, who isn’t worried about it, is Stephen Harper & His Conservatives.

Like how does that even make him a true Conservative?

He tells us that we need super sized prisons, and a three strike your out law, because of the high crime rates.  Yet even he can’t discount, that in reality CRIME IS DOWN.  So just why do we need those mega prisons?  Because he says we do?

How about in 2008, when he told us during an election, that our economy was bullet proof from a world recession.  Yet every single other economist in the world, said he was wrong. But hey, he knew better and in a few short weeks, we were getting a multi billion dollar deficit.  Yet, not even a few weeks had passed, from when he told us we’d have a surplus.  How does that make his word trustworthy?

Think about this. IF you lied to your boss, to his shareholders,  under oath too, would you expect jail time?  Least you could hope for would be to be fired, right? So how come his own Minister Oda is not only praised by him, but defended, and is still a candidate?  How is that worthy of trust?

Consider too, how his first major speech to Parliament, was spoken by someone else, but he didn’t know that.

Consider how he has taken credit for the health care increases, that were actually achieved by the Liberal Government before his.

Consider too, how he claimed that the Auditor General praised his government for its fiscal prudence in hosting the G8 Conference, that in truth, was praise for the Liberal Government, years earlier.  While his own management of the public purse, for a similar conference, is under investigation for MIS-USE of our money.

And the list isn’t even close to being finished.  How can he be trusted, I really would like to know?  Look at his own promises, of tax cuts, that have big strings attached to them. Things like cutting $11 Billion from the budget, but he won’t say where those cuts will come from?  Just trust him?

Consider his attack ads, about the Coalition between the NDP & the Bloc, about the ones about Ignatieff & the NDP, Bloc.   He himself tried to form a coalition in 2004, so how come it was okay for him, but not for Layton or Ignatieff?

Trust a man who has a double standard? Really? That isn’t worthy of my trust, nor my vote. How can it be worthy of your vote on Monday?

HONESTLY, HOW CAN YOU TRUST A MAN WHO HAS LIED SO MUCH?

Is It Desperation or Just Harper’s Ego?

I really wonder, is Stephen Harper has just too much Ego, or is he really that desperate to win, that he ignores truth, compassion, & caring?   His snappish attitude towards any questions that are about what he has said, about his programs, makes me wonder, is he even in touch with reality?

If so many official agencies say his Fighter Jets will cost more than his public estimate, why is he hiding that?  Is it even possible that his price is right, and EVERYONE ELSE’S IS WRONG?

And all those attack ads, mostly about the Coalition, is well, like what the fuck?  I mean he tried to form one in 2004, couldn’t, so I wonder, is this just because he couldn’t do it, and Dion, Layton, Duceppe could?

That is just plain EGO, and is that what we want in a Prime Minister?

I believe in a lot of the things that many Conservatives do, but I have to say, under Harper they have spent a lot of money, without any accountability.  HOW IS THAT BEING CONSERVATIVE?

How Much for the Fighter Jet in the Window

It really is a bit more than just a ‘he said, she said’ type of issue too. It is about Fiscal Accountability, and shouldn’t that be important to any real Conservative?

Even the DND is saying its gonna cost more than estimated, for the F-35

Now contrary to the Harper claim, that anyone questioning his defence purchase as being Un Patriotic, I would argue that wanting to know the actual price of something, goes to the very heart of what a REAL CONSERVATIVE IS.

Honestly, how many real Conservatives out there, aren’t looking to insure they get value for their buck?  Do you really just spend money, without even knowing how much?

It is like, hey, lets go shopping today because the kids need new clothes, dad needs a new barbeque, and mom needs some new shoes.    And off to the Mega Mall we all go, rush into stores, grab whatever tickles our fancy, and come home.

We don’t pay for it, because, well, they’ll bill us later.

Months later, the bill comes in, and oh oh, that nice new barbeque daddy bought, well, while it is nice, doesn’t grill the burgers great but okay, cost a whopping $1800.00.

The kids clothes, all out of fashion now, were like well, $275 for the jeans, $300 for the name brand sneakers, and don’t even ask how much the bill was for all those Blouses little Suzy bought.

Mom’s shoes, well hell, they were a steal, at only $450 per shoe.  Hey, it is for those who have different sized feet, so they marked up the price per shoe, not for the pair.

And that lovely bit of roast you stopped off and got at the grocery store, well hell, it was a bit tough, but tasty. So what if it cost $85 a pound.

Tell me again, why not knowing the actual cost of something, like a Fighter Jet, isn’t important?

Now let’s say you want one of those fancy new plasma televisions. Your father in law, who is a real brain, a top notch executive in his field, tells you that he’ll get you one, for well $250.   It is one of the newest on the market, hell it isn’t even in production yet, but he’ll get it for that price.  Now you really trust the guy, and well, you’ve been shopping around. YOU see that in the stores, that brand of television is going for about $500 but hey, that’s yesterday’s model.  The new one, coming out in a few years, is really super hot, but hey, the stores all say it’ll be around the $1,000.00 price range.

How come your Father In Law, can say he can get it for $250.00 but uh, he won’t let you see the price quote he got, from the same store that told you they can put you on the waiting list, but the price tag is $1.000.00.

It isn’t about being Anti Military, wanting to know exactly how much these planes are going to cost.   IT IS BEING A RESPONSIBLE CONSERVATIVE PERSON.

So IF Stephen Harper is a Conservative, WHY ISN’T HE ASKING THE SAME QUESTION?      HOW MUCH FOR THE FIGHTER JET IN THE WINDOW?
