Duh, No Kidding She Violated the Ethic Rules

It took an entire year for our lovely Ethics Watchdog to come to the conclusion, that Helen Guergis broke the Ethics Rules.  Like, gee, she admitted to sending the letter, her hubby was all over Parliament Hill.

Now what about the whole G8/G20 bullshit?  How  many years will it take before we get the truth on that one?  And ten to one, it’ll be another whitewash.

Hey let’s not forget the whole F35 jet deal. You can bet the farm that, that deal is crooked, and how long before that comes to light?

I don’t know anymore, but what is happening with our system, where politicians aren’t interested in serving the public, but their own personal interests? When did Politics become even dirtier than it was in the Roaring Twenties and Dirty Thirties?

I Trust What Harper Says…

or so someone told me today.

I suppose that is what surprises me, more than the attack ads.  I mean, what is there to trust, when a man for the last five years has lied repeatidly  LIED to us.  Do people really not see the lies?

I mean okay, he says we can’t afford the Liberal Programs/Plan, and can’t even begin to consider the NDP program/plans.   Yet, can we afford his programs, his plans?

This is the man who told us in 2004, that he would give us an accountable, transparent government.   So where is his copy of the Auditor General’s report on the G8/G20 conference?   Hasn’t been released now, has it?

What about the deal to buy all those F-35 Fighter Jets.  He says it will be $75 Million a pop, yet won’t release the letter of intent.  Even the US Congress is investigating the cost of these jets, reviewing their own purchase agreement, based on how much EXTRA they are going to cost.  The Only One who isn’t reviewing the purchase, who isn’t worried about it, is Stephen Harper & His Conservatives.

Like how does that even make him a true Conservative?

He tells us that we need super sized prisons, and a three strike your out law, because of the high crime rates.  Yet even he can’t discount, that in reality CRIME IS DOWN.  So just why do we need those mega prisons?  Because he says we do?

How about in 2008, when he told us during an election, that our economy was bullet proof from a world recession.  Yet every single other economist in the world, said he was wrong. But hey, he knew better and in a few short weeks, we were getting a multi billion dollar deficit.  Yet, not even a few weeks had passed, from when he told us we’d have a surplus.  How does that make his word trustworthy?

Think about this. IF you lied to your boss, to his shareholders,  under oath too, would you expect jail time?  Least you could hope for would be to be fired, right? So how come his own Minister Oda is not only praised by him, but defended, and is still a candidate?  How is that worthy of trust?

Consider too, how his first major speech to Parliament, was spoken by someone else, but he didn’t know that.

Consider how he has taken credit for the health care increases, that were actually achieved by the Liberal Government before his.

Consider too, how he claimed that the Auditor General praised his government for its fiscal prudence in hosting the G8 Conference, that in truth, was praise for the Liberal Government, years earlier.  While his own management of the public purse, for a similar conference, is under investigation for MIS-USE of our money.

And the list isn’t even close to being finished.  How can he be trusted, I really would like to know?  Look at his own promises, of tax cuts, that have big strings attached to them. Things like cutting $11 Billion from the budget, but he won’t say where those cuts will come from?  Just trust him?

Consider his attack ads, about the Coalition between the NDP & the Bloc, about the ones about Ignatieff & the NDP, Bloc.   He himself tried to form a coalition in 2004, so how come it was okay for him, but not for Layton or Ignatieff?

Trust a man who has a double standard? Really? That isn’t worthy of my trust, nor my vote. How can it be worthy of your vote on Monday?

HONESTLY, HOW CAN YOU TRUST A MAN WHO HAS LIED SO MUCH?

How Much for the Fighter Jet in the Window

It really is a bit more than just a ‘he said, she said’ type of issue too. It is about Fiscal Accountability, and shouldn’t that be important to any real Conservative?

Even the DND is saying its gonna cost more than estimated, for the F-35

Now contrary to the Harper claim, that anyone questioning his defence purchase as being Un Patriotic, I would argue that wanting to know the actual price of something, goes to the very heart of what a REAL CONSERVATIVE IS.

Honestly, how many real Conservatives out there, aren’t looking to insure they get value for their buck?  Do you really just spend money, without even knowing how much?

It is like, hey, lets go shopping today because the kids need new clothes, dad needs a new barbeque, and mom needs some new shoes.    And off to the Mega Mall we all go, rush into stores, grab whatever tickles our fancy, and come home.

We don’t pay for it, because, well, they’ll bill us later.

Months later, the bill comes in, and oh oh, that nice new barbeque daddy bought, well, while it is nice, doesn’t grill the burgers great but okay, cost a whopping $1800.00.

The kids clothes, all out of fashion now, were like well, $275 for the jeans, $300 for the name brand sneakers, and don’t even ask how much the bill was for all those Blouses little Suzy bought.

Mom’s shoes, well hell, they were a steal, at only $450 per shoe.  Hey, it is for those who have different sized feet, so they marked up the price per shoe, not for the pair.

And that lovely bit of roast you stopped off and got at the grocery store, well hell, it was a bit tough, but tasty. So what if it cost $85 a pound.

Tell me again, why not knowing the actual cost of something, like a Fighter Jet, isn’t important?

Now let’s say you want one of those fancy new plasma televisions. Your father in law, who is a real brain, a top notch executive in his field, tells you that he’ll get you one, for well $250.   It is one of the newest on the market, hell it isn’t even in production yet, but he’ll get it for that price.  Now you really trust the guy, and well, you’ve been shopping around. YOU see that in the stores, that brand of television is going for about $500 but hey, that’s yesterday’s model.  The new one, coming out in a few years, is really super hot, but hey, the stores all say it’ll be around the $1,000.00 price range.

How come your Father In Law, can say he can get it for $250.00 but uh, he won’t let you see the price quote he got, from the same store that told you they can put you on the waiting list, but the price tag is $1.000.00.

It isn’t about being Anti Military, wanting to know exactly how much these planes are going to cost.   IT IS BEING A RESPONSIBLE CONSERVATIVE PERSON.

So IF Stephen Harper is a Conservative, WHY ISN’T HE ASKING THE SAME QUESTION?      HOW MUCH FOR THE FIGHTER JET IN THE WINDOW?

Harper Playing the Separatist Card

Now we have the fear mongering reaching new heights from the Harper Clan. They raise the spectre of Separatism by Quebec, unless Stevie Boy gets a majority.  Once more he makes unsubstantiated claims that he is the best for the job, at keeping Canada together.

Like this from a man whose Government has systematically gone about dismantling everything possible, that is Canadian.  From ruining our Health Care, to making our National Education a joke, to pushing us into foreign conflicts, Stephen Harper has done more to destroy this Country, than hold it together.

A Government that he’s led for Five long years, has refused to Buy Canadian for such simple things as uniforms for our Military, but will gladly dole out tens of Millions for US Made jets.

This is a Government that has bled us endlessly, sending OUR jobs overseas, to appease multi national conglomerates. A man who has supported toxic waste dumping into our pristine lakes.

His Government has spend billions all over, except for Canadians who needed the help. He’s overseen the dismantling of our social programs, and even wants to privatize our Canada Pension Plan, to appease foreign interests. He even is willing to let some foreign countries control our water.

Standing up for Canada, means to VOTE, & to VOTE FOR ANYONE BUT TORY BLUE

Keep Canada Together?  Not under a Harper Regime, of any kind.

What other Leader has the gall, to even have something called  Tory Nation on his website, where he wants to build a Canada under the Tory Banner?  

Ignatieff is right, we need to RISE UP and turf this dictator out of office.

He has done more to go back on his word, including promises to Quebec, that has spurred the separatist talk there lately. It isn’t from being in a minority, it is from him promising what he won’t deliver, then blaming it on someone else.

Billions to Defence, to Corporate Coffers but…

Not even a mention in his Health Care plan about money to improve the National Health Plan. Not a mention that it will continue with the Liberal 6% increase to Provinces, or that he even is willing to add to that. Instead he talks about ‘accountability’ while doling out Ten Million to Fantino Buddies, for PRIVATE HEALTH SERVICES.

The Opposition Leaders are right, when they say the numbers don’t add up.  I mean, if it walks like a duck, sounds like a duck, looks like a duck, well odds are it is a duck.  Yet Stephen Harper tells us not true…

• Like his Jets will come in on Budget at $75 Million a piece
• That Guergis was involved in drugs and prostitution
• That Carson was the right man to be his Security Advisor
• That Ethnic Groups willing show up in traditional garb without prompting
• That no one is turned away from his rallies, if they have Opposition Photos on facebook
• That Veteran Advocates are welcome at his rallies, even though they don’t like his treatment of their services.

AND THE LIST KEEPS GROWING!

How can you trust someone like that?  Yet it seems some do, but then I guess maybe they are those fortunate few who earn big money, who enjoy his big tax cuts, that only impact people who earn over $75,000.00 a year.   Wish I could earn that much, but given how Harper keeps shipping high paying jobs overseas with his Free Trade deals, not much chance of that happening.

The Jets that need replacing, aren’t for another decade. Least that is what he said, that their usefullness is about at an end, at the end of this decade.  It is only 2011 in case anyone hasn’t noticed.  So what is so wrong with checking to see what is out there, before we commit Billions to something not even yet built?
