Thank You Stephen Harper

Went grocery shopping yesterday, and did you know that meat just tastes funny, when it’s expired, but hey not to worry, it isn’t bad.  Course neither were the dipping sauces just recalled by Safeway.

Oh, and hey, let’s not forget all that bad meat from Maple Leaf Foods, that was recalled, but still KILLED over twenty people.

And why all the recalls?

‘cuz Stephen Harper thinks that it is okay for industry to regulate itself, and that they won’t cut corners on safety.  Uh huh, and there are Weapons of Mass Destruction still hidden in Iraq.

Last month, I bought some sauce from Safeway. Today, after having used nearly half of the bottle, I checked the ‘best buy date’ and found that it expired April 2011.   I bought the damn shit in July.

Few weeks ago the wife wanted some specialty cheese, which we bought at Fairways.  It had expired as of June 2011.  Nor was that the only package of expired cheese, but an entire case filled with EXPIRED cheese.  Hell, it wasn’t even discounted, but at regular price.

Until Stephen Harper and his Conservative Morons took office, you didn’t have anywhere near the recalls, nor did we have grocery chains selling expired food.  NOT EVEN AT A DISCOUNT!

I suppose, that our health doesn’t really matter. I mean we are just slaves for the Mega Corporations, that have BOUGHT & PAID FOR a Government.  After all, Stephen Harper doesn’t have to buy food at a grocery store.

What the Conservatives don’t understand, is that if we are sick from food poisoning, well, we can’t be out there working at our minimum wage jobs, or buying all that expensive crap, that passes for new and improved.

Course it also means that our Health System becomes overwhelmed, even more so, but hey, that’s okay. After all Stephen Harper and his minions all have PRIVATE HEALTH CARE

Election Perception – Stephen Harper

Comments Off

I suppose, I like things neat and tidy. You’d never know it from how I keep house, but I like things in order. I love my routine, sort of, but in Politics, I like to KNOW who I am voting for.  I want to KNOW what I am voting for, what I can expect.

Stephen Harper and the Conservatives showed me that you CAN get elected, by sidestepping every single issue, by holding back from explaining what you plan to accomplish.

And YET the perception, that he generated, was one of a Commander, of a Cool Leader who had the answers, but wasn’t about to let us in on it. We had to trust him, or perhaps, trust the other leaders less.

With help from the Media, he created this impression that he knew what to do. He had the answers, and we just had to trust him. When questioned, and not answering, he gave us the impression that it didn’t matter, because we weren’t, well, smart enough to understand the subtle nuances of the problem.   And so many of us, bought into that bullshit, that we gave him our vote.

Maybe I am to cynical, but honestly, out of all the politicians, he gave the least about his plans, than the others. He talked in generalities, yet made it sound like a sermon from the mount.  Yet nearly 40% of voters, took the perception of him as a leader, as a good leader, to heart & voted for him.

Maybe it was the persona of the Attack Ads, that had a bigger impact on our decisions, or maybe it was that he didn’t appear in those ads?  Somehow we seemed to actively disassociate him from the mean spirited ads, that he ran.  We condemned them, yet gave him our votes, because we bought into those ads.

Or perhaps the real perception was, that he wasn’t going to raise taxes,  wasn’t going to spend us into the poor house, and wasn’t going to break apart the Country. In other words, he created negative impressions, perceptions, of the others, so we just naturally eliminated them. It gave us the perception that he wasn’t as bad as the others, hence he got our votes.

Maybe it wasn’t that we had any real perception about him, just that he created a worse impression of the others, so we would accept him.   Guess it worked, given how he is the Prime Miniter, and that others are also rans.

Dollar Forty a Liter, Will Harper Do Anything?

Comments Off

Yesterday Gas went up, once more.

In some parts of the country, gas is at $1.47 per liter for regular gas, while in Vancouver it has gone up to $1.40. ( more from CBC News here )

Now I know, what does it matter if it costs more to fill up our gas guzzling vehicles, right? WRONG!   You see, the rising cost of fuel impacts every aspect of our lives. From the farmer growing wheat, raising cattle, to the industrial conglomerates who build what little we build in our own country.

Trains & ships all rely on the fossil fuel we consume, to deliver the goods to our stores, to our homes. From the fleets of buses to the subway systems, fuel now costs them more. And we all know what happens when things cost business more, they raise prices, for us consumers to pay.

NO, the rising price of fuel at the pump, is merely something we can tangibly see, as going up, because of the GREED OF THE OIL INDUSTRY.   This is the same industry that went out, bought itself a political party, called the Reform Party.  Now it has managed to move that political party into where it is the Government.

What will their darling fair haired stooge do?   Will Stephen Harper prevent the rampant rise of gasoline prices to continue, or will he let the Market Decide the Price?

In which case, what is going to happen when all of the buddies of the Oil Industry, such as Mining, Banking, Construction, all line up for a handout, in order to stay in business.

Will we suddenly be facing another record Deficit Spending spree by the Harper Government?

Truth In Advertising Except Political Ads

I think I know why the Ad Council doesn’t include political ads, in their stats about truthful advertising.  I mean they must have done some checking on the ads, specially those by Stephen Harper.

It seems like Harper not only kicks students out of his rallies, and veteran advocates, but his staff won’t even answer questions about it. I mean they kind of imply they never kicked anyone out, but apologize for the inconviences. I mean talk about Political Double Talk.

I guess I have learned one thing from all this.

Stephen Harper has banned TRUTH from his campaign.

I guess it gets in the way of the facts, like how much fighter jets will cost, like just how much we get back in credits for his fitness tax credit.

Thursdays NDP Rally Should Be Fun

I wonder, I had to RSVP on Facebook, so does that mean I’ll be pre-screened to see if I can attend Jack Layton’s Rally in Esquimalt? LOL  Know if I was going to a Harper One I’d not only be blocked from going, but probably get my ass thrown in jail for being a damn Fag & Rabble Rouser.

Hey, what can I say, Stephen Harper don’t like Queers, nor does he like Dissent.

You would think, that for someone who wants a Majority Government, he would be encouraging those who appear to support another party, to come to his rallies. I mean how else do you plan to convince them to vote for you?

Oh right, I forgot, you make them afraid of the other guys, bully them into voting for you instead of actually convincing them you have the best policies.

See, I learned something today.  I learned that standing up to bullies can get you kicked out of political rallies. Being honest and wanting to know about a Parties Policies gets you an invite from the NDP, but might get your ass thrown in jail if its Harper’s Rally.

I am looking forward to Thursday for one major reason. This time around Jack is actually saying he wants to be Prime Minister. Now THAT is a big leap forward for him, & the NDP. So yep, I am gonna go, and who knows, he might erase that one strike he has with me. LOL
